First to VSS, to the tune of R5m+, and when the money ran dry, now they're trying to sell it again.Īnd whoever falls for Philex/Global Tech Asset Partners stories the second time will find themselves in exactly the same position as VSS today, except worse, because VSS has a legal claim that should first be tested before anyone else tries to buy the rights to Visec in South Africa. This strikes me as a hustle from someone trying to sell the company to two different buyers. So no, from where I'm sitting Philex can't just cancel a legally binding agreement because it feels like it. There is also evidence to suggest that someone is communicating with stakeholders and media through a shill claiming to be "Bob Lambert".

It just went straight for a questionable legal notice through a local lawyer, and then claimed that VSS was in breach.īordbar alleges that Philex *did* in fact sell the Visec rights to Global Technology Asset Partners, but as the article shows, that is a shady Wyoming operation only incorporated *after* the Visec Cloud was taken offline by VSS.

Philex also never provided proof that it actually ever invoiced Visec Sub Sahara. Scagell confirmed that the grounds for terminating the agreement insofar as his R25 payment for Philex's 25% stake in the company is nonsense. The notices saying all agreements are cancelled are bunk, which I hope the article makes clear. I guess it's up to clients to decide whether to jump ship, but my understanding is that many of the other companies and third-party service providers out there are ripping people off. I was worried that I didn't make this clear enough.īased on the facts in front of me, Visec Sub Sahara are the good guys (or as good as you get in business), and they are trying their damnedest to recover from a bad situation.

What I like is then the cameras event handling can do what you want to do, send a text, trigger alarm output, email a picture based on a plate match.īefore any installation, I would test it to find out how it performs in those conditions.No.

net pretty quickly, how hard can it be? Keep a database of names, addresses and license plates and feed the plate numbers to store in the camera.

I'm hoping worst case is they provide an SDK and I can write a Windows program to do this, probably in. That's the problem, no product webpage I've been to shows that piece of the puzzle. But it only works with the Q1604E and that's going to be an ugly looking solution since the city turned down our application to put a camera pole there but the vandal dome I can mount on a pilaster.ĭon't know what the interface looks like yet to insert plate numbers and names. My original idea is to use ipCongure which is an app that runs inside the Axis camera, much the same way Axis Camera Companion is an app that runs in the camera. The existing Mobotix, while they have great low light capability are easily blinded by brake lights Our goal is to mount it at the roads edge in the center median and capture plates at maybe a 15 degree angle, a telephoto lens setting aimed at the plate area with a Axis Q1604E or a P3384-VE. I don't think it's practical to have a camera directly behind or in front of the vehicle. I was going to use the Q1604, but then this camera came out with the same specs in a dome shape. I'm going to test with an Axis P3384-VE, with it's dynamic capture feature for higher speed low light sensitivity.

Don't use one with built in IR as it will likely not be able to read the plate from the reflection. The really good ones even tell you the state but that's not important for me.

Usually this type of software keeps a picture of the car and the scanned output. Whether it is from a smartphone or your computer the performance is the same. The Ivideon works like a baby monitor except it is more efficient. The device sends notifications whether it is in the cloud or stored in your HDD. This way the camera can trigger an I/O to trigger a gate actuator. I love the program, nice job writing the code. And yes, it has a database of plate numbers, when it gets a hit it can do some event processing and even trigger an alarm I/O back to the camera which is what I need. You get the normal Geovision NVR software and then they have a plugin for LPR. The one that comes to mind is Geovision, spoke to them at the show.

Funny you should say that because I have a couple of business cards of companies at ISC West I have to review to day to find one.
